How I Got Started and Why I Breed
My family has been involved in the sport of dogs for 3 generations. Combined there is over 38 years of breeding and showing experience. We have been breeding Bulldogs since 1984 and we are members in good standing with The Bulldog Club of America and The American Kennel Club. Our purpose for breeding is to improve and preserve the breed we love...the Bulldog. Our goal in breeding is to produce top quality Bulldogs with exquisite temperament and unsurpassed health.
I began showing dogs at the age of 8 years old and have been doing so ever since. I have had the pleasure of handling my own dogs to their championships as well as various other breeds. It was at that early age I decided I wanted to continue the family tradition in the sport of dogs. Showing is an important part of breeding. As a breeder, if you never show and allow your dogs to compete against it's peers, then you will never know the true quality of the dogs you are producing, where your weaknesses and strengths lie and how to improve them. So even though you may not be looking for a "show" puppy, you still will want to purchase a good quality pet puppy from a responsible, reputable show breeder.
Some Points of Our Breeding Program
We live in a quaint farmhouse on 32 acres in beautiful Rising Sun, MD. Our puppies get the benefit of fresh country air. We do not have a kennel, our dogs our in our home with us. They are pets first and foremost, show dogs second! Our puppies are raised in our bedroom until they are 6 weeks of age. They are then moved into the family room where they get lots of socialization and TLC! We breed on a limited basis, 1-2 litters a year. Our litters are well planned and well thought out. We do not compromise on health, temperament or quality. To be involved in our strict breeding program a dog must posess all three of these points, otherwise it is not used. Our girls are limited to 2-3 litters in their lifetime. You don't get quality by producing large numbers of puppies.
